One Click Upsells for WooCommerce – New Release
In a couple of days we’ll be releasing a new version of our product One Click Upsells – exclusively for WooCommerce.
In this update there are several new tweaks and features that continue to make One Click Upsells one of the most powerful tools on the market for anyone who is interested in increasing their store’s revenue.
But I want to give you a couple highlights and tell you why they’re important.
First, we’ve made testing a lot easier. You can now use the same email address for test and live purchases.
Why is this important? Before you launch your WooCommerce funnel with upsells you want to make sure you test everything. There was an issue where using the same email address in test mode that you used in live mode would throw an error.
Second, we’ve added a new feature we call “batching.” Batching gives you the option to combine all upsells with the parent order (aka – the purchase that triggers your one click upsell offers).
This was the biggest lift of the entire update. It’s also one of the most important.
Why is this important? Before this new version, all your upsells were recorded as separate orders. In some cases customers could receive multiple receipts. But the biggest issue is for anyone who uses a fulfillment center or drop shipping service.
In the latest release of one click upsells, when an order with upsells is sent to your shipping center, all the purchases and products are bundled together instead of appearing as individual orders. I want to explain a little more how that works.
This is where you’ll find the option to enable batching. You’ll see that if you don’t need this feature you can just leave it unchecked.
For the rest of you, I want to point out how this works so you understand.
When your customer purchases your “trigger product” that initiates your post purchase upsell offer(s), that initial order is “held.” It’s not processed right away because we want to see if he/she purchases any of your upsells. If the first order was processed immediately, it would be closed and there would be no way to add any other data/orders to it.
So how and when is the order closed and processed?
We process the order two ways. The first way is whenever your customer reaches the Confirmation page. That tells One Click Upsells that they have reached the end and the order can be completed.
But what happens if a customer leaves your funnel? Maybe they see your first upsell and decline. But on your second offer, they just close the page altogether. In this case the Confirmation page wouldn’t be reached. So we need a backup option.
If your customer has not reached the end of your funnel in 15 minutes, their order will be processed automatically. This means that even if they abandon your funnel, the sale cannot be lost.
This is why WordPress Cron should be enabled via your web host. Here’s how you do that.
We’re excited to release version 1.5.0 and help even more stores reach the level of success they deserve!
